The Office of the Rail Regulator has today published notice of its intention to Grant an Operator's License to Grand Central.

Ian Yeowart, Managing Director of Grand Central, comments:

"We welcome publication today by the Office of the Rail Regulator ("the Regulator") of formal notice of its intention to grant an operator's licence to Grand Central Railway Company ("Grand Central"). "This notice reflects the Regulator's view that Grand Central is a fit and proper company to operate passenger rail services. "As such, it is a key milestone on the route to the formal hearing by the Regulator of Grand Central's Section 17 application (under the Railways Act 1993) for a track access contract, which is scheduled to take place on 31 March".
